LAST NIGHT
I got away with it...so why tell her. Mom asked me how I slept last night and I told her I slept fine. In truth, I was at Bettyann"s house party. I never had so much fun. That’s exactly how it all started fun and games.
I begged and begged mom to let me go but she just kept saying no even when I threw a five year old tantrum. I had to go. All the cool kids were going but I can still hear her shouting right back at me, “You’re not going Katie. Your only fifteen and those kids are probably just trouble makers anyways.”
I still went. I waited till mom fell asleep. That took forever, she was quite as a bat and every noise that I made sounded like a boulder crashing to the ground in a cave. After tiptoeing across the house to the back door, I was able to get out and right when I did I saw my moms light turn off on the second floor to the right.
I ran down to the end of the block, it seemed like a football field and right when I turned the corner, Kyle was there just like he said he would be.
“Hey Katie, get in the car,” he yelled at me from the driver side window, “hurry we’re going to be late.” I scrambled into the car and struggled to put on my Nike's. Kyle is sixteen and his dad always let him barrow his car. Kyle was a good friend and I kind of liked him, and I no he liked me to. The car smelled just like Kyle and his Ralph cologne. I loved his smell, sweet but yet very attractive.
He raced down the streets until we hit Rainbow Blvd. and Scranton. Lights flashed like bright neon fire inside Bettyann's house. Kyle pulled a quick U turn and parked. I got out of the car and music spilled from the windows of the house. As I started walking up to the door, Kyle followed behind grabbing my hand. The wind brushed my legs with the warm night air. Butterflies soared through my stomach as we approached the door. This is it...I am actually here with the boy of my dreams.
We walked through the doors and the music vibrated my soul. It was so loud, like a real concert or something. The living room was turned into this dance floor and people were already drunk and the smell of pot lingered through the house. Beach balls bounced off walls, people danced on tables, and the fogg machine was going off.I walked straight till we both got to the kitchen. Bettyann looked at me with this evil sarcastic grin.
"Hey there's Bettyann." Kyle screamed in my ear over the music.
Bettyann is SO pretty...every boy likes her and she knows it. She walked, swinging her hips from side to side, till she got to where Kyle and I were standing.
"Didn't think you'd actually come," she murmured and then screamed, “so let PARTY!!"
She turned around and motioned for us to follow. We ended up by the drinks and just by looking at it I could tell that it was alcohol. It was the same thing that my older sister liked...Hypnotic... she poured me and Kyle a glass all the way to the top and handed the glasses to us. We both took a drink. No wonder my sis liked it. It tasted like a blue berry tree but better.
Bettyann then motioned for us to follow her again. She danced through the crowd until we got to the stairs. We headed up the stairs to the second floor then into a room with three other people that I didn't now. She shut the door behind us and went to the table in the middle of the room and said that we could sit any were in the room. The walls were a pretty velvet with mathing couches which were almost to pretty to sit on, like the ones in home magizines or something. I took a look at the ceiling and smoke swayed back and forth. My guess is that this is the room that is making the house smell like pot.
"Are you happy that we came?" Kyle whispered into my ear as we walked twards the nearest couch.
"Yeah, I’m even happier that you came with me." I smiled.
"Do you guys want any of this?" questioned Bettyann holding up a blunt that she picked up from the table.
"N-"
"Yeah pass it over here," cried Kyle interrupting me. Betty walked over to the couch that we decided to sit in and handed it to Kyle; she grabbed a chair and pulled it to where we were sitting. Kyle took his time with the joint in his hand and passed it to me. I stared at it dumbfounded, not knowing what to do. Kyle and Betty stopped what they were talking about and look at me.
"Are you going to smoke it?" they asked in unison.
"Um...sh-"
"Don't worry...Mommy's not here...you can do it. It’s just like breathing! Inhale...exhale..." She laughed.
"OK...are you sure that nothing bad is going to happen to me?" I asked with concern.
"Yes I promise nothing will happen to you, hurry and take a hit." she insisted.
About thirty seconds after I took the third puff of smoke I began too feel something that I have never felt before. Every thing around me looked different but looked the same. I liked the feeling that had come over me. Suddenly I could feel the pulse in me and I hear my heart beat. Its like it was part of the music that played in the background. The door opened behind us and a sort of panic struck me. I could not control it I just had this feeling in my gut that something really bad was going to happen. The music that came from down stairs sounded really good, I could hear the rhythm, the beat and every sound around me, and now all I wanted to do was dance.
It was really hard to concentrate on the things that people were saying, my mind was every where and I just couldn’t do it. Kyle began laughing with me cause he knew that I had reached that point were I felt good.
All I did for the rest of that night was dance and drink and smoke. And my stomach started to hurt very much. I felt something in my throat and it wasn't good. I looked around for the stairs and spotted them, ran up them like a cheetah and turned the corner into the bathroom. I made it just in time. I threw up and it was gross. It felt like my insides were being ripped out.
"Ha-ha...damn what happened 'ma? Are you OK? ha-ha," laughed Kyle," I think; maybe its time that I got you home."
"But you were drinking too," I panicked.
"I only had a sip and it was when we first got here and it was the one that Betty gave me remember?" Kyle questioned.
"Yeah, I remember lets go," I demanded."
I washed out my mouth and hands and turned around to see that he was still looking at me through the door way. He smiled and held out his hand to grab. We walked down the stairs, through the ocean like crowd and towards the front door. I moved like I was part of the ocean, i felt light like a feather. i was drunk
"Were do you think you guys are going?" screamed Bettyann.
"I'm taking Katie home and then I'm probably bout to give myself a ride to my house, so...I guess ill just see you at school Monday." replied Kyle.
Bettyann gave us her devilish smile, turned around and walked away jumping to the beat. We both turned around and Kyle opened the door. I ran toward the car and Kyle ran after me grabbing me from behind.
"Imma take you home, OK?" he said breathing a little heavy.
"Ok, let’s go," I whispered.
Kyle let go of me and opened the passenger side of the car and I hopped right in. He raced to the other side of the car, opened the door and hopped right in next to me.
"What do you want to listen to?" he questioned.
"Umm...how bout T.I. or something? I don’t really mind." I responded
"Katie?"
"Yeah Kyle..."
"Well we’ve been hanging out for a while and I thought that I should let you now that I really like you and I hope that you’re not weirded out by me telling you this!"
"Wow, Ky-"
"I now I shouldn’t have told you that. This isn’t the right place so could you please forgive me?"
"Kyle... I like you too...A LOT. And I haaaaav- liked you for such a long tiiime and I hope that you and I could get to be better friendsssand really get to no each other."
"Yeah I no what you mean...oh which street do you live on again?"
"Caspian Drive."
"I knew it. That was it back there. Any ways about what I was saying. I like you and I want you to be my girl."
"Well gee, I like you too and I want to be yooour girl."
"OK babe, do you want me too drop you off here at the end of your block?"
"No you can just drive up the shtreet and park across the street from my house, if you want."
"Yeah ill drop you off in front."
The car drove smooth up my block and I told him were to stop. He parked the car across the street like I had asked him to and turned it off.
"So am I going to see you today later on?"
"Umm...why not I think I can pull some strings with my mom."
"K, I’ll be looking forward to seeing you later on."
"Yeah, me too. Sleep good tonight."
"I will Katie and you sleep well too."
I jumped out of the car and swayed across the street. As the night went on it became a little cooler and the early morning dew was now visible. I heard the roar of his car behind me as I looked over my shoulder. He waved goodbye and I smiled. I’m so happy that he is mine and now every thing feels so right. I walked the path up to my door, then remembered that I had snuck out the back. I could feel the coldness of the dew tickle my ankles as I turned the corner to my back yard. I walked up the stairs to the back porch and went to open the door. It was locked.
"Oh crap..." I whispered to my self.
I pushed the door thinking that it was just stuck and every time that I pushed I heard a crack. Yes! It opened and it was stuck, but when it opened it was really loud. SONIC BOOM! I turned around to close the door and locked it. I through off my shoes and sat them by the door, and went right to the fridge. I was so hungry and I didn't know why. I had eaten like a pig over at the party, and I drunk a lot but not that much. The only thing that was in the fridge was last night’s dinner and it was gross. The floor boards creaked and crack above my head like an old scary house and I Knew that my mom was awake. I ran down the hall, turned the corner into the living room and down the hall that led lead to my room. I ran in closed the door silently and raided my closet for something to through on so it looked like I was sleeping.
"Knock...knock...knock."
"Katie? Are you up?" whispered my mom.
"Yeah, why?"
"Oh just wondering good night dear.
Silence. I heard nothing out side my door but the sound in my head, I could hear my pulse slowing down. I laid in my bed thinking about what had happened tonight and saying it wasn’t true...but it was so true. Everything happened the right way and everything went PERFECT.
I begged and begged mom to let me go but she just kept saying no even when I threw a five year old tantrum. I had to go. "Pass it here. Damn this is so great. Where did you get this." asked
"Um, this guy lives right next to me and has for the last four years and..HUHU....he just...HUHUH....asked me if i wanted some and i said hacks yeah."
"Oh that's cool.....well i have to bounce....bye"
"Bye."
"Bye!"
I never started hanging out with the kind of people that Ive been hanging out with lately. I just need the relaxation and the only way to get this feeling is when i hang out with these people.

That there is the excuse that my brother used when i saw him hanging out with his friends, and they were passing around a blunt and laughing.
When i saw him doing this it disappointed me and i never thought that i would see my brother do such a thing. He was always saying that i should never do such a thing but what really disappointed me was that hes the one saying that i shouldn't do it and here he is...smoking weed.
Every day i used to look up to my brother but now hes more like a person that i want to have nothing to do with. sometime when i really need someone to talk to i cant cause he'll just blow me off for his friends.
I thought that family was first but i guess that when you think that you own the whole world and start doing drugs your personality CHANGES.I miss my brother.
